TPA supplied heavy-duty aluminium temporary roadways to support Wernick in installing a new modular classroom at Rockbeare Church of England Primary School, Exeter.
Safe access for modular installation
As Britain’s largest independent manufacturer and hirer of portable and modular accommodation, Wernick is a frequent TPA customer. For this project, they required a safe and stable surface to protect the school playground while three modular units (each 3m x 10m) were lifted into place.
TPA installed 3m-wide aluminium roadway panels to cover 367m² of tarmac, creating a turning pad and access route strong enough to accommodate the 60-tonne crane used during installation. The panels provided protection against damage to the playground throughout the two-week project in August.
Fast installation and removal
Installation of the panels was completed by a two-man TPA crew in just a few hours, with disassembly taking the same amount of time. The lightweight yet robust design of the aluminium panels made them quick to handle while still providing the load-bearing strength required for heavy plant.
Client feedback
Paul Jones, Contracts Manager at Wernick (Kenfig Buildings), commented:
“We use TPA for many of our projects. Our biggest project with them to date would have been for 1,300m² over a four-month period. We would most definitely use them again.”
Why contractors choose TPA temporary roadway hire
TPA’s heavy-duty aluminium panels are engineered for demanding environments, providing load-bearing access roads in both 3m and 4m widths. For projects where speed, protection, and reliability matter, temporary roadway hire from TPA ensures smooth installation and site safety.
