TPA's Platform Edge Protection and Access Steps Installed at Manningtree Station

29 Jan
Platform edge protection and access steps from TPA’s Rapid Rail Access division have been specified for the first time, at Manningtree station in Essex.

The project

Work on one of the platforms at Manningtree station on the Great Eastern Main Line took place over six weeks last autumn.

Challenge

TPA’s client, civil engineers InRail Solutions, working for Keltbray and their client, train operator Greater Anglia, needed to keep their staff safe while they carried out works to one of the platforms at the station, which opened in 1846.

Solution

TPA have worked with InRail Solutions before and on this occasion advised their new products, the Platform Edge Protection and Platform Access Steps, would be best suited to ensure the safety of staff while they worked on the platforms and manoeuvred from the platforms down to track level.

These products feature in TPA’s new Station Works Portfolio - a one-stop-shop solution that includes both Rapid Rail Access and Portable Roadways products such as lightweight foam RRAPs, TAP-Strail semi-permanent RRAPS, and Maxi-Track heavy duty and Zappmat light duty plastic ground protection panels.
